THE CLIENT ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENT
The US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Enterprise Classroom Program modernization effort establishes life cycles and upgrades facilities to a digital classroom environment. It ensures standards of interoperability, compatibility, scalability, and sustainability that contribute to operational and sustainment efficiencies and maximize Soldier training effectiveness. These digital classrooms principally support approved instructional methodologies and instruction associated with resident training and education courses. Classroom modernization may include any combination of technology, software, facilities, infrastructure, and communications linked to a local or Department of Defense (DOD) network or the Global Information Grid. The ECP technology modernization effort provides analysis, design, engineering, technology solutions, integration, and installation. With more than 4,500 classrooms, gaming/sim training facilities, and auditoriums designed and installed since 2011, the Enterprise Classroom Program provides the infrastructure to support more than 600,000 soldiers, civilians, and Foreign Military partners training annually.
The TRADOC Enterprise Classroom Program (ECP) provides the appropriate level of technology for the 32 Army schools organized under ten Centers of Excellence (CoE), each focused on a separate area of expertise within the Army. ECP provides governance and a centrally managed and executed program that ensures standardization for instructional technologies across CoEs/Schools, resulting in economies of scale for acquisition and sustainment. Additionally, our staff consists of key personnel that has been part of the Army Schoolhouse training technology environment evolution from 1998 to 2019. This knowledge of the environment of each of the 32 Schools is critical to providing technology that adapts to the mission as well as the learning styles of today’s Soldiers.
The Army schools must establish training requirements for today, as well as for eight to ten years from now. The designs we provide must support today’s technology as well as the future technologies that will impact the training of Soldiers (such as Gaming and Virtual Reality). As the Army mission and technologies change, the TRADOC Enterprise Classroom Program must not only adapt but predict the technologies that may be in place so we can support new methods of instruction and Command initiatives.
Pragmatics has established a turnkey process to deliver state-of-the-art digital instructional environments that have varying complexities based on the training mission. Our team of experienced engineers successfully implemented a three-step strategy, allowing quick, efficient reactions to changing customer requirements, shifting priorities, and emerging technologies. Pragmatics owns the project from definition through installation, and we have established a direct dealership with the leading audiovisual, networking, and computing manufacturers to position the ECP technology for today and tomorrow’s learning trends.
- Since 2011, customer satisfaction ratings have improved yearly until reaching a perfect score in January 2014.
Pragmatics’ ability to work with the original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) as direct dealers has allowed TRADOC to increase rooms’ capabilities while maintaining contractual price points.
New Active Learning classrooms (2018-19) have increased test scores and reduced overall course length.
Pragmatics continues to design and refine our learning solutions to be scalable as support the Force 2025 and Beyond and the US Army Learning Concept for Training and Education visions.
