CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 5

CMMI_DEV5_appraisal_markSince 2012, Pragmatics’ Agile Software Development Center has been appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 5, the highest level of organization capability maturity that the CMMI Institute awards. 

Having been continuously appraised at Level 5 for our Agile software development, Pragmatics has been able to excel in areas where other companies cannot. We have demonstrated these capabilities for our customers (e.g., DoD, DISA, USPTO) by:

  • Establishing and implementing repeatable processes based on best practices
  • Identifying risks and mitigating them at early stages of the work, and
  • Quantifying performance and conducting continual process improvement.

CMMI-SVC Maturity Level 3

CMMI_SVC_3_LogoPragmatics’ Information Technology (IT) Operations Group is appraised at Maturity Level 3 for IT Service Management.  Our IT Operations Group manages and delivers services and help desk operations for headquarters staff and all our projects, using mature practices. Pragmatics has well-defined Maturity Level 3 processes for service delivery, incident resolution and prevention, and capacity and availability management that set us apart from others.

Our CMMI-SVC processes and templates are based on ITIL v3, ready to be implemented in customer environments.

Our key IT Service Management system is ServiceNow, an industry-recognized service management system, based on best practices, and used by major Federal Government agencies that we support.

Pragmatics promotes and has institutionalized continual innovation and process improvement. This is informed by our Quality Assurance team that conducts independent internal audits of our programs, identifies non-conformities, and recommends process improvements.

ISO Integrated Management (9001, 20000-1, 27001)

Pragmatics is one of a very few companies to quality for a single Integrated Management System (IMS) audit. We have successfully completed a certification audit with an ANAB -accredited auditor, which has simultaneously confirmed our ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 20000-1 (IT Service Management System), and ISO 27001 (IT Information Security System) certifications.


iso_9001_2015ISO 9001 certification demonstrates Pragmatics’ commitment to quality across the company. We follow the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle in our projects and corporate groups.  This includes rigorous control of documents and records, bi-traceability of requirements, and management oversight.



ISO 20000-1 iso_iec_20000_1_2011certification focuses on our IT Operations Group, which provides services across Pragmatics. Along with service delivery and the use of a stream-lined ticketing system that keeps users informed of ticket status and ensures early ticket resolution, we are also able to accomplish transitions to new or changed services in an effective and efficient manner.


iso_iec_27001_2013ISO 27001 certification demonstrates our IT Operations Group implementation of information security including compliance with NIST 800-171, an Insider Threat Program, with numerous controls to ensure confidentiality, availability, and integrity of project and corporate information. Our customers can count on Pragmatics to safeguard their information, as we have demonstrated on numerous projects.


This achievement benefits our customer because it demonstrates that Pragmatics’ business processes are fully integrated, with a unified and encompassing vision. This translates into highly efficient project management and performance.

An integrated audit for the three ISO standards is only permitted when the company’s management system employs a common method of management review, control of documents, internal audit, nonconformity clearance, and measurement and analysis.
