Reston, VA, July 15, 2019 — Pragmatics, Inc. announced today that Donald (Don) Schaefer has joined the company as Vice President of the Defense and Intelligence Solutions Business. Donald will transition responsibilities from the current VP and General Manager, Mike Yocom, who has retired after several years of service at Pragmatics, as well as a distinguished military career in the US Army. Donald will oversee the delivery and enhancement of services provided to Pragmatics’ current Defense and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. He will also help develop new differentiating capabilities to solve our customer’s mission needs, and develop our next generation of business and technical leaders.
Don is a senior executive with technical knowledge and large program leadership experience across Defense, Intelligence, and Civilian agencies. Prior to joining Pragmatics, Don was the President of MDA IS in Gaithersburg, MD and later, upon acquisition of Digital Globe, was the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for the combined new services business, Radiant Solutions. Both companies provided geospatial services and multispectral imaging systems to the DoD, Intelligence Community, and many large commercial customers. Prior to being named President of MDA IS, Don served in a number of senior leadership positions that included; Vice President and Officer at Noblis, leading the Civilian Market Division, Partner at Blue Canopy LLC, providing systems engineering solutions across various Intelligence and Civilian agencies, and as Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, leading systems engineering and business development across the federal government and commercial markets. Don began his career as an Intelligence Analyst with the U.S. Navy.
