Chenok Named Federal 100 Winner by Federal Computer Week

Pragmatics Senior Vice President Honored for Contributions to Federal Information Technology Community

McLean, VA, March 8, 2010 –
Pragmatics, Inc. today announced that Federal Computer Week has named Daniel J. Chenok to its list of the top 100 leaders who played pivotal roles in the federal information technology (IT) community during 2009. The 22nd annual listing recognizes 100 individuals for their efforts in affecting change, progress, and efficiency in determining how the federal government acquires, develops, and manages IT. Chenok — Senior Vice President and General Manager, Civilian Agency Services Division — and the other winners will be honored during ceremonies on March 22 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.

Chenok is a key contributor to the management team that has helped Pragmatics continue its strong growth and outstanding service for federal agencies. In addition, Chenok is widely recognized as an expert in senior-level program management, policy, and technology skills. In 2009, he served on President-elect Obama’s transition team, leading efforts on transition activities for preparations for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Office of E-Government and IT, and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, as well as cross-cutting technology and innovation. He helped lay the foundation for the open government agenda and the President’s Open Government Memorandum and helped to frame a number of prominent IT initiatives, including Data.Gov and Recovery.Gov.

Chenok also served on organizations that help the government address key policy and management challenges. These include chairing the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board; serving on the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Commission on Cyber Security; and serving as a part of the CIO Senior Advisors to Government Executives (SAGE) program with the Partnership for Public Service.

Prior to joining Pragmatics in 2008, Chenok was vice president and director, consulting business integration, for SRA International, Inc., where he served as an executive with the SRA Touchstone Consulting Group and led the company’s Business & Technology Offerings organization. Chenok previously served in senior positions in OMB, including his last position as the branch chief for information policy and technology.

Pragmatics CEO Dr. Long Nguyen said, "Dan is well respected in the government IT community. We are pleased and proud that Federal Computer Week has recognized his impressive contributions with this honor."
