Pragmatics Awarded $2.5 Billion Contract by Food and Drug Administration
McLean, VA, October 7, 2008 – Pragmatics, Inc., a leading provider of information technology (IT) solutions and services for the federal government, today announced the award — in a joint venture with IDL Solutions, Inc. — of a $2.5 billion contract by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration (FDA). IDL-Pragmatics was one of ten contract awardees. Under the ten-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) Information & Computing Technologies for the 21st Century (ICT-21) contract, IDL-Pragmatics can provide a broad range of IT infrastructure services and deliver best-of-breed solutions for an operating infrastructure that supports a diverse set of FDA information services.
The joint venture, known as IDL-Pragmatics Innovation Partners JV, led a team of 13 companies to win the FDA ICT-21 contract. The team included Digicon Corporation; HCI Action Architectural Consultants; INDUS Corporation; QWEST Government Services; TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc.; TestPros, Inc.; The Stellar Corporation; Vangent, Inc.; World Wide Technology, Inc.; and Z-Tech/an ICF International Company. Additional teammates include a large government systems integrator.
The ICT-21 contract was a highly competitive procurement in the health IT industry, and the FDA made awards in both the large business and small business categories.
