Dan Chenok, Senior Vice President
As senior vice president and general manager, Dan Chenok leads business activity across much of the federal civilian agency landscape and heads the development and growth of horizontal capabilities across Pragmatics five divisions. He also plays a leadership role in representing the company at professional associations and other organizations across the information technology (IT) industry.
Prior to joining Pragmatics, Chenok was vice president and director, consulting business integration, for SRA International, Inc., where he served as an executive with the SRA Touchstone Consulting Group. Chenok previously led SRA’s Business & Technology Offerings organization.
Before joining SRA, Chenok served as the branch chief for information policy and technology in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He led a staff responsible for OMB oversight of federal policies regarding electronic government, computer security, privacy, budgeting for IT, information dissemination, and related issues. He also advised senior White House officials on major policy decisions and worked closely with the Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) Council and other interagency groups.
Chenok won numerous OMB awards, including the Distinguished Service Award, the agency’s highest honor. He also received the CIO Council’s Azimuth Award as the Government Executive of the Year in 2002. In 2005, and again in 2010, he was selected by Federal Computer Week to the Federal 100. In 2006 he was appointed as Chair of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board. He served as a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency, the American Bar Association’s Committee on the Future of E-Rulemaking, and the Industry Advisory Council’s Presidential Transition Governing Board. Chenok also served on President Obama’s transition team as the government group lead on the Technology, Innovation, and Government Reform Policy Committee and as a member of the OMB Agency Review Team overseeing IT, information, and regulatory transition activities.
Chenok is a graduate of Columbia University and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
